The World Loses One Second

Today, Wenesday 1st of July, I read an article found on the website Kiwi Kids News called 'The World Loses One Second'. It is about how yesterday, Tuesday 30th of June, was longer than usual by 1 second. The official time was set by atomic clocks. The “leap second” means the last minute of June will have 61 seconds in it. Leap seconds and leap years are added as a more basic way to keep the clock under the circumstances with the Earth and its seasons. To read more, click the link.
